Decisions made one invoice at a time
Laptops, licences and software get bought when something breaks or a salesperson calls. Nobody has added it up, so the real annual spend on technology is a guess.
IT assessments and technology roadmaps for Alberta companies without an IT department. We review what you run today, then hand you a costed plan for the next one to three years: Microsoft 365 and cloud moves, vendor quotes checked, budgets set and AI readiness assessed. From $1,500 per assessment.

Laptops, licences and software get bought when something breaks or a salesperson calls. Nobody has added it up, so the real annual spend on technology is a guess.
A provider proposes a new server, a migration or a three-year contract. The figure is large, the document is full of terms you do not use, and there is nobody independent to ask.
Files live in three places, email in another, and the accounting system does not talk to anything. Every new hire makes the setup a little harder to explain.
A written inventory of devices, accounts, software, licences, suppliers and costs, with notes on what is ageing, what is duplicated and what nobody uses any more.
Changes are listed in order, each with an estimated cost, an effort level and the reason it matters. You can budget for the year instead of reacting to each failure.
Before you sign a large proposal, we read it against your actual needs and tell you what is reasonable, what is padding and what questions to ask the vendor.
Microsoft 365 or cloud moves are planned step by step: what moves first, what downtime to expect, who needs training and how to roll back if something goes wrong.
We interview the owner and the people who use the systems daily, then collect invoices, licences, device lists and supplier contracts. Most of this happens remotely.
We map what you run against what the business needs over the next few years and draft the options, each with a cost, an effort level and its trade-offs.
We write the report: current state, risks, a costed roadmap in priority order and, where relevant, a migration plan or a review of the quotes in front of you.
We walk you through the report in one meeting, answer questions and adjust priorities to your budget. The final version is yours to share with staff or any provider.
A roadmap ages. We will revisit it each year or before a large purchase if you want, and you are free to carry out the plan with us, your current provider or anyone else.
In detail
It is advice you pay for on its own, separate from any product sale. For an Edmonton company without an IT department, consulting should end in three things: a review of what you run today, a costed plan for what to change next, and a straight answer on quotes and migrations before money is committed.
The work suits companies of 3 to 40 people where the owner, an office manager or a technically minded employee has been making IT decisions alongside a full-time job. The aim is to take those decisions off the side of someone's desk and put them in a document the whole company can follow.
Consulting decides what should change; support keeps things running day to day. An assessment is a fixed piece of work with a written report at the end. IT support is a monthly service covering the help desk, patching, backups and user changes. Many companies need consulting once, then support every month after that.
| Option | Best for | Cost and timing |
|---|---|---|
| IT consulting assessment | Deciding what to change, buy or migrate, and in what order | From $1,500, 1–3 weeks per assessment |
| Security review | Finding and ranking security gaps in accounts, backups and devices | Review from $1,800, 1–2 weeks |
| Ongoing IT support | Help desk, patching, backups and user changes every month | From $300/month, cancel anytime |
An assessment includes a security spot check. If security is the main worry, a full cyber security review goes deeper into sign-in, backups and access.
Every assessment starts with the current state: devices, accounts, software, licences, suppliers, costs and the risks among them. From there the scope follows your question, whether that is a Microsoft 365 move, a vendor quote, next year's budget or whether AI is worth trying. Each one ends the same way, with a written recommendation and costs.
A costed list of changes over the next one to three years, in priority order. Each line says what to do, why, roughly what it costs and what happens if you wait. Added up by year, it becomes your technology budget instead of a series of surprises.
Moving off an old server, shared drives or a patchwork of personal accounts takes planning. We set the order of moves, the licences you actually need, the expected downtime and how staff will be trained, so the migration happens on a known date.
Send us the proposal before you sign. We check whether it fits your size, flag items you do not need and list the questions to put back to the vendor. Sometimes the quote is fine, and we will say that too.
We look at which processes involve reading, sorting or retyping information, and whether AI, simple rules or no change at all is the right fix. If one is worth building, AI automation or custom software are the next steps, quoted separately.
An assessment from Glasshead Tech starts from $1,500 and takes one to three weeks, depending on the size of the company and the question being answered. A single quote review sits near the starting price; a full current-state review with a roadmap and migration plan costs more. Either way, the figure is fixed in writing first.
All our bands are listed on the pricing page. Carrying out the roadmap is a separate decision. You can hand it to your current provider, do parts yourself or ask us to quote the work.
You get a report you can read in one sitting and act on without us in the room. It is written in plain English, with technical detail in an appendix for whoever does the work. Slides summarise a meeting; a written roadmap still makes sense six months later, when the next renewal arrives.
The report stays yours. Share it with staff, your accountant, a lender or another IT provider. Tell us the decision in front of you. You will hear back within 24 hours, with a fixed price for the assessment once the scope is clear.
Assessments start from $1,500 in CAD and take one to three weeks. A review of a single vendor quote sits near the starting price, while a full current-state review with a roadmap and migration plan costs more. You get a fixed quote first, covering the interviews, the review, the written report and a walk-through meeting.
No. The roadmap lists what should happen and who could do it, and carrying it out is a separate decision. If your current provider can do the work, the report says so. If the right answer is a standard product rather than a custom build, we recommend the product and explain why.
Yes. An assessment can include a migration plan for moving email, files and accounts into Microsoft 365 or another cloud service: what moves first, which licences you need, the downtime to expect and how staff are trained. The move itself is quoted separately, and can be carried out by us or by your current provider.
Yes. An assessment runs mostly through short interviews, shared documents and screen sharing, so it works for companies anywhere in Alberta or elsewhere in Canada. On-site visits in the Edmonton region are available when seeing the office, the server cupboard or the field setup would change the advice.
The assessment is advice and planning. It does not include buying equipment, carrying out the migration, fixing the issues found or ongoing help desk support; those are quoted separately once you have the report. It also does not include simulated attacks or compliance audits, which we refer to specialist firms.
Yes, if you add AI readiness to the assessment. We find where staff read, sort or retype information, check what data each task would expose to an outside provider, and recommend AI, plain automation or leaving it alone. Anything worth building is priced separately, so the advice is not tied to a sale.
Glasshead Tech provides IT support in Edmonton for teams of 3 to 40, covering Microsoft 365 administration, patching and monitoring, backups with tested restores, multi-factor authentication, onboarding and offboarding, and a help desk by email and phone. Ongoing care starts from $300 a month, cancel anytime, with the scope agreed in writing.
Glasshead Tech provides baseline cyber security for Edmonton small businesses: a review of sign-in, Microsoft 365, backups, patching, email and access, then a written fix list in priority order. Reviews start from $1,800 and take 1–2 weeks. We do not run attack simulations or a monitoring centre; we refer those to specialists.
Glasshead Tech builds AI automation for Edmonton and Alberta businesses: a language model handles one narrow job, such as reading quote requests or supplier invoices, and a person approves the result before it reaches a customer or the books. Each workflow starts from $3,500, takes 2–6 weeks and is quoted at a fixed price first.
A renewal, a migration, a large quote or a budget. Send it with a short note about your company and we will reply within 24 hours with a fixed price.
