The problemWhat it costs you

What usually brings people here.

01

Updates nobody has run

Plugins, themes and the core software fall months behind. Each one is a known weakness that automated attacks look for, and the longer it waits, the riskier the eventual update becomes.

02

A backup nobody has tested

A backup exists somewhere, probably. Nobody has tried restoring it, so when the site breaks or gets hacked you learn at the worst moment whether it actually works.

03

Small edits wait for weeks

A new price or a staff change sits in someone's inbox because the person who built the site is busy, gone or charges a minimum hour for a five-minute job.

The outcomeWhat changes

What you have when we are done.

01

Software kept current and checked

Core, theme and plugin updates are applied on a schedule, checked on the live site afterwards and rolled back from a backup if something breaks. You do not have to remember any of it.

02

Backups you can actually restore

Scheduled backups are stored away from the site itself, and restores are tested. If the site is damaged, hacked or edited by mistake, there is a clean copy to bring back.

03

Problems caught early

Uptime and security monitoring alert us when the site stops responding, logins are attacked or files change unexpectedly, so we act on it instead of waiting for a customer to mention it.

04

Edits handled by email or phone

Send a new price, a photo or a staff change by email, or call us. Small edits are part of the plan, so they get done without a quote, a ticket or a minimum charge.

The workIncluded, and how it runs

What is included.

  • Hosting for your site, where wanted
  • Core, theme and plugin updates
  • Scheduled backups with tested restores
  • Uptime monitoring with alerts
  • Security monitoring and baseline hardening
  • Small content edits each month
  • Support by email and phone
  • Takeover review for sites built elsewhere
  • Written quotes for larger changes

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Discover

We review the site as it stands: software versions, hosting, backups, security settings, who holds the accounts and what the site must never stop doing, such as forms or bookings.

  2. 02

    Design

We write down what the plan covers, which edits count as small, where backups live, how alerts reach us and what gets quoted separately. You approve it before we start.

  3. 03

    Build

We move or set up hosting if needed, bring the software up to date, configure backups and monitoring, and record every account in a handover document you keep.

  4. 04

    Launch

The plan starts on a set date. We test a restore, confirm alerts arrive and tell your team exactly how to send edit requests by email or phone.

  5. 05

    Optimise

Each month we apply updates, check backups, handle small edits and watch for problems. When something bigger is needed, such as a new section, we quote it in writing first.

In detail

What does website maintenance in Edmonton cover?

Website maintenance from Glasshead Tech is a monthly care plan: hosting if you want it, software updates, backups, uptime and security monitoring, small content edits and support by email and phone. Plans start from $150 per month and you can cancel anytime. Anything bigger than a small edit is quoted in writing before work starts.

WorkExampleHow it is priced
Routine careUpdates, backups, uptime and security monitoringIncluded, from $150/month
Small edits and supportA new price, photo, staff member or phone numberIncluded
HostingYour site on hosting we manageIncluded when we host it

RebuildA new design, or a site that cannot be repairedWebsites band, $4,500 – $12,000

Where small ends and larger begins is written into the plan before it starts, so a request never turns into a surprise invoice.

What goes wrong when a website is not maintained?

Software falls behind, and outdated plugins are one of the common ways small business sites get broken into. Forms stop delivering enquiries and nobody notices, security certificates lapse and browsers warn visitors away, and a failed update takes the site down with no clean backup to restore. Most of these failures stay quiet until a customer mentions them.

If the site collects names, email addresses or booking details, keeping it patched is also part of protecting that information. Alberta's PIPA expects organisations to make reasonable security arrangements for the personal information they hold. This is general information, not legal advice, but a contact form running on software nobody has updated is hard to call reasonable.

What should you ask a website maintenance provider?

Ask what is actually done each month rather than what the plan is called. Find out where backups are stored and when a restore was last tested, who receives the alert when the site goes down, which edits are included, how larger work is priced and whether every account stays yours if you leave.

  • Account ownership. Domain, hosting and administrator logins should be in your business name, not the provider's.
  • Backups. Stored away from the server the site runs on, with a restore tested rather than assumed.
  • Scope. A written line between included edits and quoted work.
  • Exit terms. Month to month, with a full copy of the site and its data when you go.
  • Security limits. A clear statement of what is covered. Our plans cover baseline hardening and monitoring, not a round-the-clock security operations centre, and deeper checks sit with our cyber security review.

Can you take over a site someone else built?

Yes, after a review. We check the software versions, hosting, plugins, backups and who holds which accounts, then tell you in writing what state the site is in and what needs fixing first. If it is sound, it moves onto a care plan. If it is not, you hear that before paying a monthly fee for it.

The review exists because some sites cost less to rebuild than to keep patching: abandoned plugins, a custom theme nobody can update or hosting that cannot run current software. In that case we will recommend website design for a straightforward site, or web development where logins, staged forms or integrations are involved, and explain the reasoning.

Where will my website be hosted?

Care plans can include hosting for your site, and we tell you in writing which provider and region it runs in. Where a client needs a site or system hosted in Canada, for a contract, a sector rule or plain preference, we arrange Canadian hosting for that client. The plan also works on your current host.

How much does website maintenance cost in Edmonton?

Our care plans start from $150 per month in CAD, and you can cancel anytime. The figure depends on the size of the site, what it runs, such as a brochure site or a store taking payments, how many small edits you expect and whether we host it. You get the monthly figure in writing before the plan starts.

Plans and bands are listed on our pricing page. If your laptops, email and accounts need the same steady attention, IT support works on the same monthly model. For a figure for your site, send us its address and we reply within 24 hours.

Asked before they write.

How much does a website care plan cost per month?

Care plans start from $150 per month in CAD and you can cancel anytime. Where your plan lands depends on the size of the site, whether it handles payments or bookings, the volume of small edits and whether we host it. The figure is agreed in writing before the plan begins.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

No minimum term. Plans run month to month and you can cancel anytime. When you leave, you get the site files, a recent backup and every account detail we hold, so the next provider or your own team can carry on without rebuilding anything.

What counts as a small content edit?

Changes that use the pages and layouts the site already has: new prices, text updates, photos, a staff member, a phone number or a new blog post. Anything needing a new layout, a new form, an integration or a new section is a larger change, and we quote it before starting.

Do you maintain WordPress sites built by another developer?

Yes, after a takeover review. WordPress and WooCommerce sites need the most regular care because core, themes and plugins update often. We check the software, hosting, plugins, backups and account ownership, report what we found, and only then put the site on a care plan or explain why a rebuild is the better option.

Can my website be hosted in Canada?

Yes, where your business needs it. Care plans can include hosting for client sites, and where a client needs a website or system hosted in Canada, for a contract, a sector rule or preference, we arrange Canadian hosting for that client. We tell you the provider and region in writing so you know where the site and its data sit.

Does a care plan cover security?

It covers the baseline: updates, hardening, backups, login protection and monitoring for downtime and unexpected changes. It is not a round-the-clock security operations service, and we refer specialist testing to specialists. For a deeper look at your accounts, devices and setup, our cyber security review starts from $1,800.
